Adrian Neville, a game developer, didn’t take to math naturally or easily. But he knew that math skill would help fuel his interest in technology and programming. For Adrian, his math path included setting goals for himself and challenging him to beat them; then pushing himself to meet an even higher goal to reach once he did, honing his mathematical problem-solving skills along the way!
“I use math all the time, a lot of different types of math. I would say probably, it would be generally trigonometry and algebra. The most important thing about the math is that it teaches you how to think logically.”
“Coding is basically teaching the computer what you want it to do, in a language it can understand. So it’s a very formal language, you have to give it very precise instructions and if those instructions aren’t right, you don’t get the results you need.”
“I was always interested in technology and computers and programming.
I think the best way to measure your success is to measure it in terms of your own self-improvement. Set a goal for yourself, and try and best that goal or to meet that goal.”
