(00:32) Recently, there have been discussions around geo-targeting and hreflang and people coming up with workarounds for how to use it on their websites. What are your feelings on this topic?
(02:15) People get geo-targeting and hreflang wrong very often. Why is that? What is it that makes it so challenging for people to get right?
(06:47) Hreflang is constantly one of the things that people get wrong, even though it is many years since it was first launched. Could there be a better way to do it, or will the task of separating out all the different language and country pages and making them visible simply always be complex?
(10:38) The geo-targeting debate goes beyond hreflang. At the International Search Summit we had quite a rigorous discussion about the use of gTLDs and ccTLDs for global websites and which strategy is better. What are your thoughts on this global domain strategy debate?
(14:11) You talk a lot about the missed opportunities in search marketing, and a lot of that comes down to poor geo-targeting which leads to websites missing out on having pages indexed and visible in the right target markets. What are the opportunities for the businesses who do geo-targeting really well? How much advantage do they have over the competition?
