Ranil Wickremesinghe has been elected as the new President of Sri Lanka, news agency Reuters reported. Voting to elect Sri Lanka's new president concluded a while ago, and according to sources, Ranil Wickremesinghe had taken an early lead by a big margin. Shortly after his election, Wickremesinghe said that his country is in a very difficult situation.
