How are the cops able to retrieve cell phone data without search warrants? Because there are loopholes for them to easily jump through.
This clip is from one of my YouTube videos where I discuss the police use of Stingrays, a cell site simulator tool. These tools gather the data (texts, calls, Internet use) of any cell phone connected to it. So, even if the cops did have a search warrant for your neighbor's phone, they STILL get the data you keep on your phone. While these are documented in the court system, there isn't much public knowledge of these tools because cops are so secretive about them.
