The honey is not wild here. Each family has its own tree, and each individual his hive, made with his own hands. For this nomadic tribe, milk and meat are the two basic foods. Honey is used mainly for bargaining between prospective in-laws.
Offering honey facilitates the negotiating of wedding arrangements. According to the Hammers, all work linked to the cow and the honey is the exclusive domain of men, since only they are considered to be the true descendants of Bakimoro.
