Learn how to recognise your ASCENDING INTERVALS with this simple EAR TRAINING method!
Being able to identify intervals is key to becoming a great musician! This video shares how I developed my ear training, using popular movie soundtracks to help internalise ascending intervals within a one octave range.
I've demonstrated these intervals on the guitar, but this is not exclusive to any particular musical instrument. The most important thing is to being able to quickly identify the interval and play it on your instrument! This will dramatically develop both your improvising and transcribing skills!
THE BASIC METHOD: By associating intervals with familiar songs, you can identify any interval you are trying to work out by comparing the two notes in questions with the ones you've memorised until you find the right one!
With enough practice, you'll eventually just hear and identify the interval without having to use the reference song at all!
