Hope this helps.
Black to Battery Negative.
Red + White to Battery Positive.
Green to Distributor Negative ("TACH" plug).
That's the way I wired it up.
And don't forget the Little Cylinder Selector Switch on the back of almost EVERY Tach ever made, if you suspect your RPM Gauge is reading too high or too low. You may need to change that setting.
