Princess Catherine's deep Easter curtsy caused a sensation
After being posted, archival video showing Kate Middleton curtsying to Queen Elizabeth II on Easter Sunday in 2019 quickly gained popularity on social media.
The video is the most recent royal curtsy-related social media edit to go viral. Meghan Markle brought attention to the issue in December 2022 when she said she thought being asked to curtsy to the queen when she first met her was "a joke."
Fans have also incorporated the curtsies of Meghan, Princess Diana, and Princess Margaret into social media footage, in addition to Kate.

At the royal family's special Easter Sunday service at St. George's Chapel inside the walls of Windsor Castle, Kate extended the Queen the curtsy shown in the video.
For the Easter break, the royal family and their entourage often relocate to Windsor, in what used to be known as Easter Court. Recently, King Charles has been staying in the castle, although it is unknown if he would follow his mother's example and keep a diary.
Since 2017 (with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID epidemic), Kate and Prince William have attended every royal Easter Sunday service at St. George's Chapel. Previously, they were either on royal tours or are likely away during their kids' summer vacation.
Kate donned a blue coat dress by Catherine Walker & Co.—one of Princess Diana's favorite fashion houses—along with a bespoke hat and accessories made of grey suede for the 2019 service.
The caption for the video says, "A perfect queen in waiting. She gives and accepts with grace."
Additionally, recent video of Kate being bowed to while on royal engagements is included in the edited clips.
