Nouvel hommage à Marie LAFORÊT pour sa chanson « Sur le chemin des Andes »
El cóndor pasa est d'abord une œuvre théâtrale musicale classée traditionnellement comme zarzuela, d'où est extrait l'air de la célèbre chanson du même nom.
La musique a été écrite par le compositeur péruvien Daniel Alomía Robles sur un livret original de Julio de La Paz (pseudonyme du dramaturge liménien Julio Baudouin) en 1913. Mais la partition ne fut publiée comme composition originale et enregistrée par Robles qu'en 1933 aux États-Unis.
Le thème éponyme « El cóndor pasa », issu de la musique qui clôt la zarzuela en 1913, a connu un rebond de renommée mondiale considérable à partir de la fin des années 1950 (groupe Achalay) / début des années 1960 (groupe Los Incas), mais sous une forme différente de l'original ː non plus en version orchestrale classique, éventuellement avec chœur, mais maintenant pour un ensemble réduit, en version toujours uniquement instrumentale mais avec des instruments autochtones des Andes (kenas, charango, harpe andine, tinya (es)). C'est sous cette forme nouvelle, avec l'adjonction de nouvelles parties chantées en 1970 (sur des paroles bien différentes de l'esprit et des thèmes de la version originale de la zarzuela), que cet air deviendra un standard de la musique folk dans le répertoire du duo Simon and Garfunkel et fera le tour du monde, connaissant des versions et des adaptations quasiment innombrables.
D'après un journal péruvien, Simon et Garfunkel, sont aussi à Paris lorsqu’ils entendent cette musique traditionnelle.
Los Incas présente cette musique à Paul Simon, comme une complainte populaire péruvienne du 18ème siècle.
Donc à priori pas de problème.
Alors, en 1970 Simon et Garfunkel enregistre leur version avec des paroles carrément différentes sur le même thème musical.
C’est là que la chanson traduite par Simon et Garfunkel devient un succès mondial. Rien qu’en France, plus d’un million de copies sont vendues.
Mais là, problème de droit d’auteur. Armando Robles, le fils du compositeur, assigne alors en justice, le duo américain.
En France, Marie Laforêt effectue son "Sur les chemins des Andes" (alias "Sur le chemin des Andes" alias "La flûte magique") en 1966. Elle adapte la chanson en évoquant un aigle et non un Condor.
