Dr. M. Sayeed Alam talks about his initiation into theatre, and how his life changed completely. Here he talks about his journey as a dramatist and the importance of team work in theatre. He considers himself as a Playwright by Choice, a Director By Chance and an Actor by Force. His multiple roles in theatre have made him a greater theatre artist.
Dr. M. Sayeed Alam, is a man of speckled interests. In the recent past, he has been a university teacher and a journalist before taking up his passion as a professional theatric dramatist. Ever since, he has written, directed, and acted in, more than 1,500 plays. He heads one of India’s prominent theatric group -Pierrot’s Troupe, renowned for its contemporary and incisive plays. His intention to show that Urdu drama is no different than any other mainstream professional themes of the theatre is what makes him one of the leading symbols of theatric drama in the country.
