On 17th August, 2013, Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) held its 150 years of party convention in Berlin, Germany with the participation of 200,000 people . SPD , the current main opposition party, is the oldest political party in Germany and one of oldest parties in the world. Even though I am not a social democratic by my political ideology, participation at the event was a great experience. I have taken part in various such events in Sri Lanka and also in Europe. I liked this event very much as it is exciting, entertaining and politically important. It is also very different to political rallies we see in Sri Lanka.
