In this video, Dr. Aniketh Venkataram from The Venkat Center, Bangalore, speaks to a patient about the gynecomastia procedure that the patient had taken up a few days ago. Initially Dr. Aniketh observes that there are nice results after ten days after the surgery, even though there is swelling, the area where the surgery will get better in the coming days. When asked how the patient was feeling, the patient states that he is feeling good, he has a ‘new feeling’, and he also feels like a part of him has been taken off. He says that he’s getting a ‘new life’ altogether. He’s now happy to remove his shirt confidently. The patient stated that there was a lot of hesitation in the past and now that hesitation has been replaced with a 100% confidence.
Another issue that Dr. Aniketh points to is the fact that it is difficult for people suffering from this condition to convince family members that this condition needs attention and possibly surgery. The patient agrees and says that he had difficulty convincing his family members and this has been going on for three to four years. But the highlight here is about the personal issues faced when the patient goes swimming or goes out with friends. He then says that he was able to convince his family members that he had to take up this surgery.
Next, Dr. Aniketh speaks about local anaesthesia and the pain related to this surgery. The patient says that there was not much pain as it was explained to him that the method in which the anaesthesia works and that he was made to stand up to check the area of the surgery. So, it was very helpful for the patient, especially the administration of local anaesthesia.
