A Belgian aristocrat is taking King Albert II of Belgium, Crown Prince Philippe, Princess Astrid and her own father to court in an attempt to prove that Albert is her father.
Artist Delphine Boel, 45, wants to force them to provide blood samples for DNA testing following years of asking the king to recognise his parenthood.
Boel's existence as the illegitimate daughter of the king came out in 1999, when she insisted on privacy and refused to comment. But she has gradually increased pressure on the royal family to recognise her, and although she has always insisted she wants none of Albert's money, recognition would entitle her to 19% of his estate.
