NO COPYRIGHT INFRIINGEMENT INTENDED - (Unreleased Philles Records Recording) In the summer of 1965, record producer Phil Spector, issued a single on his Philles records subsidiary label, Phi-Dan entitled, 'Home Of The Brave' by Bonnie and The Treasures. Composed by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, the marvelous 'Wall Of Sound' track was produced by Spector protege', Jerry Riopelle and arranged by Nick DeCaro. Although the record featured the lead vocal of Charlotte O'Hara, over the years many incorrectly assumed it was the voice of Ronettes lead singer, Veronica 'Ronnie' Bennett. In October 2020 while sorting through her mothers musical artifacts, Jana O'Hara found among many Gold Star recording Studios acetate discs, one 8 inch disc that was unlabeled. Solving the 56 year old mystery of whether or not a version of 'Home Of The Brave' by the Ronettes existed can now be put to rest. Although the sound quality of the acetate is very poor due to the severe deterioration of the playing surface, it appears to be the unfinished original version of the tune. Produced by Phil Spector, arranged by Jack Nitzsche and engineered by Larry Levine, the recording features the lead vocal of Veronica 'Ronnie' Bennett above the basic backing track before the addition of strings and background vocals.
