There is an important piece that happens before the foot landing.
What you see is that the foot moves backward before the landing.
You will see this backward movement of the foot in elite runners (and most runners) whether they land on the forefoot, midfoot, and rearfoot.
This movement allows the foot to be used more like a rocker which allows for a smooth transition through the running cycle.
So Runners....
Stop worrying about what the best foot strike pattern is, and figure out what running style works best for you.
