This video highlights some simple and effective outdoor training practices that might be accessible right in your backyard. I went out to my favorite park to record one of my favorite training sessions: locomotion (moving your body through space).
We start with a quick look at rock hopping - mindful movement over complex terrain. It's one of the most simple and underrated forms of training that develops dynamic balance and offers tons of movement variability. Mental training (focus) is built right into the practice.
The rest of the videos looks at some of my favorite running drills and some heavy carries - a simple but sinister training combination. We often keep our running to straight lines but I'm going to show you how to switch things up. In between drills, why not slow down and carry some heavy stuff. This type of training is extremely practical and effective.
