A funeral to mourn the loss of the parole officer allegedly killed in the line of duty in Montgomery County was held Saturday, bringing together his loved ones and city officials.
On May 31, Davis Martinez was doing his job as a parole agent, making sure Emanuel Sewell, a violent sex offender released from prison after serving 20 years, was staying out of trouble. Martinez went alone to Sewell’s Chevy Chase apartment to supervise him. He never returned home.
