Grand Theft Auto is one of the most critically successful and ground-breaking series to date. After more than 20 years, this series is still going strong with continued support from its community and the ever-evolving world of GTA Online. Each title is revolutionary in its own right and this video aims to follow the series, right from its birth as a small title from DMA design to the massive success of the franchise. Not without its fair share of criticism regarding gruesome violence and unhinged nudity, Rockstar wasn't afraid to show us their satirical take on American culture in the most detailed and life-like open-worlds ever created. With today being the 20th anniversary of GTA III, this video is a tribute to Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto series - which I hold very dear to my heart. The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition trailer was also released today in honor of GTA III's 20th Anniversary.

*Originally this video was supposed to be calling out Rockstar for their increased hatred towards modders and the announcement of GTA V coming to consoles for the third time. I opted for this because it would have been much more solemn, whereas I wanted the tone to be a bit lighter.
