in this video chris' walks us through how large language models are moving from the mainframe era (openai, chatgpt, gpt4) to the era of distributed computing (alpaca, vicuna, falcon qlora etc) and even desktop computing (web-llm, webassembly and webgpu).
he looks at the original Alan Kay vision which is based on Messaging, Mini-Computers, autonomous agents, Encapsulation and Extreme Late Binding and the facts that syntax such as objects and classes are irrelevant. as opposed to the traditional fundamentals of object programming which is based on encapsulation, inheritance, abstraction and polymorphism.
