Sjogren’s syndrome (SS) is an autoimmune, chronic inflammatory disease characterized by dense infiltration of lymphocytes in the exocrine glands. Essentially, the body’s own immune cells, the lymphocytes, attack and infiltrate various exocrine glands and cause their functional impairment.
