In this video, I give a quick demonstration of how to separate Patterson reels. These plastic film holders from your developing tank can be taken apart to work with different film sizes like 35mm and 120 (some can work with 110). The process is simple, but the twisting direction is important.
Steps:
1. Hold the reel with both hands in front of you
2. Twist your right hand away from your body
3. Twist your left hand towards your body
4. Pull apart each side
5. Use the notches on the center spindle to adjust the width
6. Reassemble and twist in the opposite direction to lock the reel

Hi there. I'm Chris. Film is more fun is a place where I share about whatever busted up old camera I'm currently shooting and tinkering with, or my meanderings in film photography.
It would be pretty rad if you said what's up. I'm 99% friendly. Definitely do that.
Disclaimer: These videos lack technical proficiency, and are more like an elderly person navigating a tv clicker.
