A carjacking suspect driving against traffic on a Florida freeway during a high-speed chase on Tuesday night crashed head-on into an SUV, killing two Wisconsin siblings, officials said. Domynick Milis, 21, and Danycka Milis, 18, both of Omro, Wis., died in the collision on Interstate 95. The siblings were returning from a visit to see Christmas lights at Daytona International Speedway and died on impact, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said. Two teens in the backseat, ages 13 and 17, survived and were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, Chitwood said. The suspect, who led law enforcement on a chase at speeds above 110 mph, also died in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office. His name wasn’t immediately released. Chitwood said the suspect had 50 prior arrests. “The scene will never leave you,” Chitwood said in a news conference. “All of us who were out there will never, ever, ever forget what happened.” On Thursday night, a candlelight vigil was held at Omro High School, as the small town reeled from the tragedy. “Domynick was a very nice young man, a very good soul,” Art Eichmann, a family friend, told The Daytona Beach News-Journal. “He was just a kind-hearted person who would always help anyone, and Danycka was certainly very much the same.” Recommended on Daily News
