(3 Dec 2019) Climate activist Greta Thunberg said on Tuesday that the upcoming COP25 UN climate change conference in Madrid was an opportunity to achieve a better outcome for the environment than previous gatherings.
The Swedish teen was speaking as she arrived Tuesday in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on her way to the Climate Change Conference.
Thunberg told dozens of reporters and activists under bright sunshine on a Lisbon quayside she plans to keep pressing political leaders to make climate change their top priority.
"And everyone has to do everything they can in order to make sure they are on the right side of history, because in order to change everything, we need everyone", she said.
Commenting on travelling by catamaran instead of plane, Thunberg said she felt "a bit seasick" but was "incredibly lucky".
