The Kabaka, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has handed over the ceremonial mace known as Ddamula to the new Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga.
Mayiga takes over from Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi.
The brief function which occurred at the gate of Twekobe palace was attended by several dignitaries and Buganda loyalists who were in a jubilant mood.
Mayiga, from the Mutima Clan was accompanied by several clan members.
