Türkiye's newly re-elected president Recep Tayyip Erdogan beat his opposition rival by more than two million votes in yesterday's run-off election. His victory comes as NATO awaits Türkiye's approval for Sweden's bid to join the alliance. Mr Erdogan had previously blocked the bid, accusing Sweden of sheltering Turkish opposition figures who allegedly have links to outlawed Kurdish militants.
