What’s for Tea Tonight? focuses on syncopation and basic ensemble skills.

The inspiration for the piece is a game the composer Andrea Vogler plays with her students.
They all play the word rhythm “what’s for tea tonight?” then take it in turns to make up the answers. For instance bar two could be “chips and gravy” or bar 6 “rhubarb and custard”. The aim of the game is to guess what the other people are having for tea based on the rhythms they play!
