Raccoons are noisy. Raccoons can grow as large as 30 pounds. You will hear a raccoon moving in your attic.
Raccoons are also incredibly vocal creatures. They can make more than 200 different sounds which include purring, chittering, growling, hissing, whispering and even screeching like owls.
If you hear a raccoon in your attic, do not attempt to catch it. They have sharp claws and teeth and will defend themselves if cornered. If raccoons have been living in your attic for a while, there likely is a latrine site. A latrine site is a raccoon designated space for raccoon droppings and urine. Disturbing a latrine site is both disgusting and dangerous to your health.
