Alex O'Loughlin is an Australian actor, writer and director who is best known for his dashing role as Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett on ‘Hawaii Five-0’, an American television series. Alex O'Loughlin is a graduate The National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney graduate who auditioned for the character of James Bond but lost out to Daniel Craig kicked off his acting career working on short films and stage productions.
However, he received his first break on television and since then had adroitly straddled both the big and the small screens. Winner of quite a few awards, Alex has been held by many as the prime reason for the outstanding success of Hawaii Five-0. Both critics and fans have lauded his ability to play the extremely emotionally complex character with matchless flair. In a diverse collection of on-screen roles, he has displayed his outstanding ability to play not only action-oriented roles but also romantic comedies.
