In this talk, Taylor speaks to the growing polarization that has gripped the United States in recent years - pointing out that lawmakers of different political parties actually agree on the vast majority of issues, but those garner less media attention than issues on which we are more divided. Taylor seeks to break down stereotypes about Republicans and encourages young people to become more involved in what is going on around them. She also calls upon people of all ages to look past political parties to ensure a successful future for the United States. Taylor was a Junior at Bloomington High School North when she gave this TEDx talk. She was the youngest Political Director in the state of Indiana, and a three year President of the Bloomington High School Republicans. Taylor has enjoyed managing and working on campaigns since she was 13 years old. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
