On June 11, 1983, Tucker and his friends, after consuming high doses of drugs and alcohol, went to rob 27 year old Jerry Lyan Dean. When Dean discovered them, Karla murdered him in cold blood by stabbing him with a pickax. He also killed Dean's girlfriend, 32 year old Deborah Thornton.
Karla was executed at the Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville by lethal injection on Tuesday, February 3, 1998 at 6:45 p.m.
