This unique freshman-only interdisciplinary course at Washington University in St. Louis gives students an overview of the creative process across disciplines and explores the importance of creativity to any profession they may wish to pursue. The course is co-taught by Robert Mark Morgan, Senior Lecturer of Scenic/Industrial/Exhibit Design in Performing Arts, and Bruce Lindsey, E. Desmond Lee Professor for Community Collaboration and Dean of the College of Architecture & Urban Design.
The course will illustrate the necessity of creativity across disciplines via a series of 15 to 16 guest lecturers across 7 sections of 2 weeks: Mind, Body, Heart, Prototyping, Failure, Play, and Money. The course has 2 lectures per week and a Friday lab component where students work in collaborative groups.
