A total lunar eclipse will take place on 15th May 2022 night, which is technically 16th May 2022 early hours. The first of two total lunar eclipses in 2022 will happen here. This eclipse will turn Moon into Blood Moon. It is the longest lunar eclipse in over 1000 years.
A second eclipse will happen on 8 November.
The eclipse will be a dark one with the northern tip of the Moon passing through the center of the Earth's shadow. This is the first central eclipse of Saros series 131.
