This innovative session will showcase four emerging arts & cultural entrepreneurs of color as they “pitch” their projects to a panel of experts who themselves are all successful cultural entrepreneurs. The panel will evaluate the projects based on core entrepreneurship metrics and will ultimately award a $25,000 “Sphinx Tank Grant” to the entrepreneur demonstrating the highest level of excellence in all of these areas. The reality today is that a successful career trajectory in the arts necessitates core entrepreneurial skillsets. Through this dynamic session, participants and conference attendees (whether pursuing a formal path of entrepreneurship, active performance or teaching opportunities or long-term administrative leadership goals) will have the opportunity to observe critical skillsets being demonstrated by their peers and adjudicated by a panel of industry leaders.
