In this video I’ll walk you through step by step how to make all 3 of the masks that the CDC gives instructions for, and at the end of the video I’ll give you some additional tips for wearing masks.
The CDC is recommending that everyone wear a cloth mask whenever you go out in public, if it's difficult to social distance. For example to a grocery store or pharmacy.

These aren't medical grade or n95 masks. But they’re better than nothing. Just remember they aren’t perfect so you should still keep at least 6 feet apart from other people. Don't let having a mask on give you a false sense of security.
First I'll demo the 2 designs that don’t require any sewing: the bandana and the t-shirt. Then I'll show you the mask that requires sewing.
1. Make a Mask out of a Bandana (bandana mask)
2. Make a Face Mask out of a t-shirt. You can get 2 masks out of each t-shirt. No sewing.
3. Face Mask with Fabric. How to make a face mask with fabric - which requires sewing.
Wearing a mask is primarily to keep you from giving someone else sick. But it's also to help you not touch your face. It can help protect you so you don’t get sick yourself. But again, it’s not medical grade and droplets from coughs, sneezing or even talking can get through.
Touching your mask is like touching your face. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after touching it.
Wash your mask after each use. That means that you may want to make a few masks per person in your family, depending on how much you leave your home.
These masks are for all ages 2 and up. I've seen these masks for babies that have a binkie holder. Don't do that.
Finally, thank you for making a mask, wearing it and staying apart from other people. You’re helping do your part and we appreciate it!
