The Tourism Authority of Thailand says “the imaginary wooden castle at the horizon stands majestically sort of a mountain.
From the bottom to the highest, it’s all made from wood sort of a wooden hill. Who could believe it’s all made by Thai craftsmen
and artisans without one nail.”

The architecture is inspired by Buddhist and Hindu beliefs.

Each of the four corners features a tower with figures from Thai, Cambodian, Indian and Chinese beliefs and legends.

Date: August 13, 1981


The Sanctuary of Truth is a tremendous wooden building right the beach in North Pattaya.

The building has been under construction now for quite 20 years, and it'd take another 15 years before it's finished.

Objectives: to spotlight the importance of spiritual philosophies that promote sustainability of the planet through spirituality
and powerful piety in arts or moral and cultures – teaching humans to try to do good and avoid bad.

Features: A Thai-styled jaturamuk woodcarving castle.
The central apex is 105 meters tall, 100 meters wide at 4 directions.

Materials: The castle is formed of hardwood like takien thong, pradu, daeng, teng and gold teakwood.

To maintain the wood quality, CCA liquids (bronze, lead and arsenic acid) are applied.

The whole castle is made without a metal single nail.

Woods are joined together through the Thai traditional
wood joining techniques.

The Sanctuary of Truth is open daily from 8 am until 5 pm.

Child rate: Height 110 - 140 cm

Toddler: Height under 110 cm

How to get to the Sanctuary of Truth?

The Sanctuary of Truth is located at 206/2 Moo 5, Soi Naklua 12.

The Sanctuary is not on one of the songthaew routes in Pattaya. To get there, either charter a songthaew or take a taxi.

You can ask the driver to wait for you and drive you back to your hotel. Agree on price and duration before leaving.
