Hi, today we will do the experiment about the relationship between the solubility of gases and temperature. We get two cups and we have two bottles of mineral water here as you see. The temperatures of the minerals are 4OC and 20OC, respectively. And now we will pour the mineral waters to the cups you see here. And we will try to observe the CO2 liberation from the mineral water. Now I’m pouring the mineral water with 4OC to the cup on the right. And we will pour the other one with 20OC to the cup on the left. Now we can observe the CO2 liberation from both cups. The cup on the left(warmer) liberates more CO2 than that of on the right(cooler). 2:21 From this experiment, we understood that solubility of gases is inversely proportional to the temperature. At high pressures like 2 to 4 atm, CO2 gas is compressed into the water and water reacts with CO2 to produce carbonic acid. It dissolves the hydrogen ion and bicarbonate ions .
