The horrific murder of young Emmett Till in 1955 is widely considered the spark that ignited the Civil Rights movement. The 14-year-old black boy from Chicago was in Mississippi visiting family when two white men kidnapped, tortured and dumped in the Tallahatchie River. The Department of Justice is reopening the investigation after the woman at the center of the case, Carolyn Bryant Donham, admitted she gave false testimony.
