A real world example of 6 Australian grayling moving in response to higher flows in the Bunyip and Tarago Rivers.
Australian grayling, like all native fish, require certain river conditions to feed, mature, move and spawn. This animation looks at one of these conditions: flow.
A managed environmental flow in autumn prompted adult grayling to move downstream to spawn.
This animation was produced by the Victorian Environmental Water Holder (VEWH), the Arthur Rylah Institute (ARI), Melbourne Water and animator Mari Adams (Calamari Pictures)
