Another NSE vid from the summer of 1992. The West of England loco pool was on the floor for motive power, and spare RfD non ETH 47s were drafted in, some in rather poor health as the one featured here, 47 317 'Willesden Yard', when pulling away from Woking sounds like it's mis-firing! Even one of the NSE 47s seen is a normal 47/4 which didn't have larger fuel tanks (like the ex Scotrail 47/7s) to complete a full day's diagram so had to be swapped at some point to be re-fuelled. This summer saw all sorts of odd workings including Res 47s, at least one 37 and an class 73 ED as far as Basingstoke! Towards the end of this upload we see a DEMU at Woking on a West of England working, they were also used on Salisbury-Waterloo workings when short of locos and/or coaching stock.
