Welcome to science at home in this experiment we are microwaving ivory soap. When ivory soap is manufactured it's whipped, trapping lots of air molecules within the soap. When ivory soap is microwaved the water and air within the soap expands causing it to grow and expand into a fluffy white mess. At the end of this episode you will be able to explain what happens when ivory soap is microwaved, what Charles's gas law is and how it relates to this experiment.
