The Powis Creaser Machine is designed to be easy to operate, even on the largest job. The transparent die holder allows you to see exactly where each crease is being made. The creaser has a smooth moving lever and soft grip easy to use handle for applying the crease. The Creaser Machine equipped with the double crease die as standard is designed specifically for short-run perfect bound books (aka softcover or softback). With the double crease die you can produce both the spine crease and a decorative hinge crease simultaneously. The hinge crease is placed precisely at 3/16” from the edge of the spine crease on both the front and the back book cover. The operator places the bound book block into the built-in book thickness guide by adjusting and locking the ring guides to the book. With the book thickness set the operator adjust the sheet guide to place the first spine crease, the second spine crease is automatically set to the book thickness. With the guide set the operator places the cover at position 1, applies the crease, then moves the cover to position 2 and applies the crease. The book cover’s spine and hinge crease is perfectly placed with the cover’s title centered perfectly on the book cover’s spine, ready for binding.

The Powis creasing process compresses both the paper and the image. Utilizing a blade and matrix device that spans the width of the sheet it produces a perfect crease in one swift action. When folded at the crease there is no cracking, just a clean crisp fold, producing a beautifully printed brochure with a perfect finish!
Choose Your Included Score/Crease Die (Purchase the Optional Die)
The Powis Scorer-Creaser Machine comes standard with one scoring/creasing die. You may choose either a double score/crease die for producing perfect bound book covers (Model: SM-2), or a single score/crease die for brochures (Model SM-1). After choosing the included die you can purchase the optional die. Changing the die is a simple matter of removing two pins and switching the die.
