As simple a DIY music project as you can get: I taped a piezo mic to a kalimba and ran it through a few different guitar pedals. Here are two short tracks I recorded with this setup.
In the first song, the kalimba is running through an Earthquaker Devices Afterneath reverb pedal. A Korg SQ-1 sequencer is connected to the Afterneath's expression jack, controlling a secondary function of the reverb.
In the second track, the kalimba is connected to an octave pedal and the Mid-Fi Electronics Clari(Pirate) delay, an incredible, unique pedal that adds warble and weirdness to the delay.
Really cool sounds, no feedback even though the amp was only a couple feet away. I got a whole pack of piezo mics for about $6, I'm going to attach them to everything!
