I’ve craved for good ‘ol continental food throughout this lockdown. Although it’s my favourite cuisine (alongside bengali), I do believe this particular cuisine tastes best when tried out at a restaurant instead of ordering home.
I took the short walk to Park Street where all the major restaurants are situated. Although it was drizzling, I decided to give the umbrella a miss.
My first stop is Mocambo, no particular reason, other than it was the closest to me. I’m pretty satisfied with the safety measures taken, both at the outside as well as throughout the dining experience.
Since my two favourites (grilled fish in lemon butter sauce & lamb chops) were missing from the menu, I had initially ordered for a glass of fresh lime soda as well as chicken ala kiev. Both were placed on my table for self service. I was having a good time when the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise started spread all over my social media.
Unable to enjoy nor even complete my meal, I had to quickly ask for the check, somehow scramble through a quick feedback with the manager Ashish and head out.

Let me know what you think of it. Also, if you’d like me to cover more such/similar restaurants from Park Street or any other area in Kolkata in the next few visits.
