Moment Cinebloom, Prism Dream FX, and Tiffen Pro Mist Filter Alternative for $12 | Old School Diffusion Filter
Hey everyone, this is Alpaco and I wanted to show you a cheap alternative to Soft Diffusion filters like the Moment Cinebloom, Tiffen Pro-Mist, and Prism Dream FX filters.
This was actually a $13 kit that comes with an old school case, a CPL filter, and a UV filter which I used to make Bokeh Hearts in a previous video.
My General Assessment is these filters are definitely cheaply made and are simply not as great as the other filters in terms of construction. They also don't have as great of a character to them. and I wonder if the cheap construction will affect Quality Control.
They are $13 and a great way to just see if this might be something you'd like. They have a very hazy dreamy effect. So, if you're trying for that “look” and "feel" then highly I recommend!
The following is simple tests that I ran to compare the shot with and without the filter.
