Back for more! Knuckles O'Toole, initially portrayed in the studio by Billy Rowland, then Dick Hyman, was a shot in the arm for honky-tonk piano in the mid-to-late 1950s, and kept the genre alive longer than was perhaps necessary, And we should be glad for it. Despite the obnoxiously detuned piano, the music is just plain old fun, not just nostalgic. This is the second of four volumes of Honky-Tonk Piano by O'Toole, featuring Rowland at the piano (with one or two exceptions), and a template for what such an album might be in terms of selections, variety, and overall style. Not a bad way to spend 35 minutes. Images and visual commentary and stories are baked in as usual.
