An ESPP is a perk offered by employers allowing the purchase of company stock at a discount with money deducted from employee paychecks. To get a guaranteed return, the best time to sell ESPP stock is IMMEDIATELY!
You do get preferential tax treatment if you hold on to the shares for longer but this increases the risk of concentration. So, the best strategy would be to sell ESPP shares immediately and essentially give yourself a raise (free money!).
