Starfield gameplay compared to fellow space game No Man's Sky. Can you see the similarities between these titles?
Starfield gameplay was unveiled by Todd Howard at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, with this new sci-fi game showing off explorable planets, first and third person shooting, in-depth character customisation, spaceship traversal and dogfights, and much more. It's a sweeping action RPG that many are comparing to Skyrim or The Elder Scrolls and Fallout in space - which would make sense as Bethesda Game Studios also created these games!
But there's also been a lot of chatter about how comparable Starfield is to Hello Games' No Mans Sky, a science fiction title that allows for many of the same gameplay experiences Starfield is attempting. No Mans Sky infamously had a rocky launch when it debuted for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PC in 2016 but has since become a celebrated title thanks to a series of well-received free updates.
So, how similar are Starfield and No Man's Sky exactly? In this graphics comparison, we take a look at some of the game's comparable gameplay components, from exploration to fighting to flying.
Starfield is being developed by Bethesda Game Studios and will be published by Bethesda Softworks. It's coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC some time in 2023, with its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass confirmed by Xbox.
No Man's Sky is developed and published by Hello Games. It's available on PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. It's coming to Mac, iPad, and Nintendo Switch in the future.
