In this video, we continue our visit to Valdez, Alaska with a tour of some of the local sights. Our day starts with a hike on Dock Point Trail near the harbor. We found some pretty views and northern rainforest woodland. Then we visit the waterfalls that are on the outskirts of town. The two beautiful waterfalls are Horse Tail Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Since Valdez is on the rainy coastline of Alaska, the snow melt and rainfall means that there is plenty of water to promote extensive vegetation which adds to the lush verdant greenery around the waterfalls.
Back in town, we capture a few photographs of the harbor. During the prime summer season, we were blessed with lots of beautiful wildflowers scattered in the woodland and along the roadside. Finally, we wrap up the video with some of the views above town where the mountain tops and glaciers were visible between the clouds.
We hope you enjoy the video.
