Over the past decade, China has opened more than 500 Confucius Institutes in nearly 150 countries and regions, along with over 1,000 Confucius classrooms in primary and secondary schools.
Despite its clear function of facilitating inter-cultural and international exchanges, some people somehow felt intimidated and tried to force local universities to shut it down.
