Teaming up for the first time with director Stephen C. Apostolof (as A.C. Stephen) in 1965, Edward D. Wood, Jr.'s script "Orgy of the Dead" came to fruition with a budget of somewhere between $10,000 - $30,000.
Initially, Ed was paid $600 for writing the book "Orgy of the Dead" in which this story was plucked. He was then compensated a sum of $400 for his screenplay of the story.
Wood also served as an uncredited assistant director, production manager, casting agent, and held Criswell's dialogue cue cards on the shoot. His faithful friend, Criswell, helmed the starring role as The Emperor.
Wood and Apostolof would team up several more times throughout the years.
